Introduction Program

Online Music Psychotherapy

The Introduction Program includes five (5) virtual counselling sessions at a reduced rate. Ideal for new clients wanting to explore their mental health from a holistic perspective. We use music-listening as the foundation for each session.

Services

  • Music Psychotherapy

  • Walk & Talk

We combine traditional talk therapy with the benefits of physical activity and being in nature, such as mindfulness, reduced stress, and improved mood.

  • Online Counselling

Attentive listening + evidence-based techniques to guide you through difficult times. We set goals and find solutions together.

  • Group Therapy

We focus on connection, freedom of being and creative expression. We build resilience through community and shared learning experiences.

Meet Monique

Welcome to my private practice. My name is Monique McGrath. I’m a counselling therapist registered with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (LCT-C 22-061), and music therapist accredited with the Canadian Association for Music Therapists (MTA 0534).

My background is in music psychotherapy and mental health across cultures. I hold a BA in Jazz Studies, a Masters in Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, and Masters of Arts in Ethnomusicology from the University of Toronto. I’ve completed certified trainings in trauma-informed counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and naturopathy.

I care deeply about decolonization and freedom of being. I use a holistic approach when working with clients, as I believe it’s important to nurture the mind, body and spirit to enjoy a meaningful life. I grew up in Petit-Rocher (NB). French is my first language. I’m a quarter Irish and three-parts Acadian (Haché, Doucet, Gogin.)
